GLP-1 Drugs Show Male Fertility Benefit in Five-Trial Review, Researchers Say

Research presented at ENDO 2026, the Endocrine Society's annual meeting in Chicago, suggests GLP-1 weight-loss medications may improve testosterone levels, sperm quality, and metabolic health in obese men with hormone deficiencies.

A systematic review of five randomized controlled trials — covering men aged 18 to 65 — found the drugs do not suppress male reproductive hormones and, in at least one comparison, outperformed hormone replacement therapy on key health outcomes.

The evidence base remains limited, and the authors are calling for larger trials before clinical conclusions can be drawn.
