Fed chair Warsh faces Capitol Hill panels on economy and interest rates

Kevin Warsh appeared before the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday to address the economy and interest rates.

The session forms part of the congressionally mandated Capitol Hill appearances for the Federal Reserve chairman. The mandate Federal law sets the requirement.

The Fed chair must appear before Congress periodically to cover monetary policy and economic conditions.

Warsh fulfilled part of that obligation Tuesday before the House Financial Services Committee; the Senate banking committee is also on his Capitol Hill schedule for this cycle.
