Tesla sold 486,532 electric vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, a 2.1 percent decrease from the 497,099 units delivered in the same period of 2025. The company exceeded analyst expectations of 456,600 cars, a figure that would have represented an 8 percent year-on-year decline. Despite the year-over-year drop in sales, Tesla stock rose during the morning session.
Total production at Tesla increased year over year, with the company building 464,391 vehicles, a 3.7 percent rise. Of these, 457,387 were Models 3 and Y, marking a 4.9 percent year-over-year increase. The remaining 7,004 vehicles comprised other models, primarily Cybertrucks with some Semis and Cybercabs, as the Models S and X are now retired. This category saw a 39.8 percent decrease year over year.
