Six people are dead in rural Missaukee County, Michigan after a multi-scene shooting Friday, per UpNorthLive and local reports: three found at a residence near LaChance Road and Kelly Road in Richland Township, one at a second home, one in a wooded area, and the suspected gunman. Michigan State Police identified that suspect as Chad Hickman, 39, who was later located and found dead. A fourth person at the Richland Township address was wounded.
Michigan State Police posted on social media Friday morning that officers were investigating a shooting in the area and that authorities were seeking Hickman, whom they described as "armed and dangerous." A later update confirmed he had been located. He was found dead, according to UpNorthLive.
The investigation spans at least three separate locations. Officers first responded to the residence near LaChance Road and Kelly Road, where three bodies and one wounded survivor were discovered Friday morning. The trail then extended to a second home and to a wooded area, each producing one additional fatality.
Lt. Ashley Miller, the Michigan State Police public information officer, told UpNorthLive the shootings have been difficult for investigators, troopers, and the community. The agency is committed to a thorough investigation, Miller said, and will keep residents updated as findings emerge.
Police have not released details on what led to the shootings. Fox News Digital has reached out to Michigan State Police.
