Fourth-quarter hold
Atlanta scored 28 points in the third quarter to open the eight-point lead. The Fever answered by holding the Dream to nine in the fourth, their lowest single-quarter output of the season, while outscoring them 17-9 to force overtime. Sophie Cunningham's and-1 with 3:35 remaining gave Indiana a 78-77 edge. Allisha Gray carried Atlanta offensively with 32 points. Angel Reese added 15 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists but shot 5-for-16 and picked up five fouls.
The regulation-ending sequence turned on Reese. With the score knotted 81-81, Rhyne Howard missed a three with 5.5 seconds remaining. Reese grabbed the offensive rebound and had a clean look at the basket. She hit the backboard and then the rim. Naz Hillmon's desperation shot at the buzzer also missed.
Overtime
Reese opened the extra period with a basket. Indiana then scored the next eight points. Kelsey Mitchell's layup with 13.6 seconds remaining stretched the Fever's lead to 93-88, giving her a 20-point game and extending her streak to 19 consecutive games scoring at least 20.
With 10 seconds left, officials called a foul on Clark. Indiana challenged. ESPN's broadcast team said they expected the call overturned. Officials upheld it. Howard made all three free throws to cut it to 93-91.
Atlanta fouled Clark immediately. She made both. Clark grabbed the Dream's final miss and heaved it the length of the court to drain the remaining seconds. Her line: 26 points, nine assists, and the last rebound. Aliyah Boston finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, five steals, and three blocks.
Atlanta went 25-for-26 at the foul line. They still lost.
