Drake London admitted to shouting expletives at a fan during the Atlanta Falcons' 34-3 defeat to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The wide receiver took accountability for the outburst in a postgame press conference after FOX broadcast footage showed him pointing and yelling at a spectator in the third quarter while Atlanta trailed by 31 points.
London stated via ESPN that he does not tolerate disrespect, saying, "I don't care who you are. I'm a man, too, at the end of the day." He acknowledged that engaging on a personal level was not the right course of action and said he must push forward and be the bigger man in such situations.
The loss marked the Falcons' second consecutive defeat, leaving them with a 0-2 record and 16 total points for the season. The game highlighted significant issues with Atlanta's quarterback room. Cooper Rush started the contest but was benched after completing 10 of 17 passes for 86 yards and throwing two interceptions. Jack Strand replaced Rush, completing eight passes and throwing an interception of his own.
London finished the game with four receptions for 51 yards on five targets. The Falcons' offensive struggles are compounded by injuries to their other primary options. Presumed starter Michael Penix Jr. is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season, while Tua Tagovailoa, who was initially announced as the Week 1 starter, is also injured.
