DFW Crating & Packaging, a Grand Prairie, Texas specialist in custom crates and protective packaging, has been acquired by Specialized Packaging Group, giving SPG its first direct presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
Financial terms were not disclosed. DFW Crating will continue to operate from its Grand Prairie facility under its current name.
SPG said the deal adds established client relationships, an existing workforce, and crating expertise the company described as "complementary" to its current operations in North America.
SPG CEO Paul Budsworth pointed specifically to DFW's server rack crating capability as a direct fit with SPG's existing portfolio, calling DFW's reputation for quality and customer service the core rationale for the purchase.
