Ten episodes is the full run Prime Video has ordered for Blade Runner 2099, the sci-fi series that received its first public teaser at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday.
The project traces to an announcement by Ridley Scott nearly five years ago, when he disclosed plans for a television spinoff of the 1982 Blade Runner and its 2017 sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
Cast and creative team Showrunner Silka Luisa joined stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer onstage at Comic-Con for the reveal. Luisa's prior series credit is Shining Girls.
Beyond the publicly released teaser, an exclusive clip was screened for the in-room audience at the convention and was not made available externally.
