Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) is trading at $116, up 20% this month to become the top performer among major cryptocurrencies.

The asset gained 6.6% in the past 24 hours, outpacing Bitcoin's 5.3%, Ethereum's 5.4%, and XRP's 6.4% increases.

This outperformance follows a broader market move where Bitcoin's push toward $85,000 triggered a short squeeze.

According to CoinGlass, exchanges liquidated $262 million in short positions within one hour as the Bitcoin price crossed $84,000.
