Keenan Allen faces two DUI charges after 0.224 breathalyzer reading

0.224 is the blood-alcohol reading, per Marion County court records, that placed Keenan Allen at nearly three times Indiana's legal limit at 1:22 a.m.

The Indianapolis Colts wide receiver, 34, was formally charged Tuesday on two counts: operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of 0.15 or more and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Allen waived his initial court hearing Wednesday, suggesting he is seeking a quick resolution. The 0.224 figure satisfies the higher of the two charges, the ACE count requiring a concentration at or above 0.15.

Allen had initially failed to produce two readings on a portable breathalyzer; police described him as "extremely short winded." The 1:22 a.m. test followed those failed attempts.
