44.7 points-plus-assists per game is what Caitlin Clark produced for the Indiana Fever in August, a WNBA record for a single calendar month.

If that level carries over to the international stage, Team USA could be very difficult to beat at the FIBA Women's World Cup, which opens Friday with Clark's first appearance in the tournament.

The month's two closing performances anchor the record. Clark posted 34 points and 12 assists against the Connecticut Sun in a 111-91 Indiana win, then on Aug.

23 poured in 37 points on 8-of-12 shooting from three with 10 assists in a 113-90 rout of the Chicago Sky.
