Armstrong calls crypto bull market as July spot volume falls to $429 billion

$429.0 billion in spot volume crossed 14 major exchanges in July, a 21.7% fall from $547.9 billion in June, per Wu Blockchain. All 14 venues posted monthly declines.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, speaking on CNBC after President Donald Trump hosted crypto executives at the White House, said the trough fits a familiar template: prior bear cycles each ran roughly 370 to 380 days, and by his count spot crypto has now been in a bear market for about a year.

He said he thinks there is a good chance spot trading is on the cusp of its next bull run.
