Antennae-free drone recovered in Ukraine stored unencrypted targeting code on chip

A drone recovered from the field by Ukrainian investigators carried no antennas and needed no human pilot.

The device stored unencrypted terrain images and targeting code directly on its internal chip, placing the full mission logic in plaintext on a captured piece of hardware.

What the chip reveals The absence of antennas is the operational tell. Conventional remotely piloted systems require a communications link; this one did not.

The flight path and target selection were pre-loaded onto the chip before launch, which means radio-frequency jamming would have had no effect on its operation.
